NetworkName: HostInterfaceNetworking-VirtualBox Host-Only Ethernet Adapter #2 NetworkName: HostInterfaceNetworking-VirtualBox Host-Only Ethernet Adapter Listing DHCP servers still provides details about host-only adapters though (see below): VBoxManage normally quits a few seconds after the last API client I tried restarting VBoxSVC several times, but it did not show any effect: The list of host-only adapters remains I get the same output as crramirez, essentially no output when querying for host-only and bridged adapters. if the problem is transient and perhaps again somehow timing related or if it's consistent.
It might be interesting to know if restarting VBoxSVC has any effect, i.e.
Oh, and one hint: Initial enumeration is done when VBoxSVC starts, which happens automatically when the VirtualBox GUI is launched or any other API client is started (VBoxManage, a VM process, etc.).

This one only ever had VirtualBox 5.0 installed (after the OS upgrade I believe) and has no trouble finding host-only adapters, even after reboots. This won't help you any but I have another laptop upgraded from Windows 8.1 to 10. This could be related to different ways of enumerating Windows network adapters. The fact that 'list dhcpservers' shows the host-only adapter is very interesting though. The "Nonexistent host networking interface" error at VM startup is consistent with the fact that 'list hostonlyifs' sees nothing.
